Dear Sir,

As a frequent visitor to Bermuda I was thrilled to see Patrick Singleton competing in the luge event representing Bermuda at the Winter Olympics.

I'm not sure whether my friends and I were more impressed that Bermuda had a competitor in the Winter Olympics or that he actually wore Bermuda shorts in 20 degree weather at the opening ceremonies.

Both certainly took considerable fortitude!

Everyone must have noticed him happily waving his Country's flag.

Bermudians must be very proud of him.

As an American I say `three cheers' for this terrific young man and thank you for supporting him.
