Praise for Dunkley
March 13, 2002
Dear Sir,
Bravo! Mr. Michael Dunkley. You are my hero. Thank you for bringing to the attention to the Bermudian people this ridiculous overspending by the BHC.
This guy Paul Young and others have really socked it to Bermuda. I think I will become a painter, wow, he made eight times more than the Premier of Bermuda, in seven months, no less. I wonder how Madam Premier feels about that. This is so typical of this Government. They had no idea how to run a country. There are guys who sit on a wall 24/7 who could probably do exactly the same job, who need a job and they would certainly love the money. Why have a foreigner do this type of work? How on earth did he get this job? It's not rocket science, you know. All you do is prepare the walls and wood-work and paint, It's as simple as that. You move a brush or roller up and down.
Mr. Editor, I would really like to know why this Government did not jump on this issue before the opposition got their hands on it. Did they not know where all this money was going? Come on now. Don't we have a finance Minister who is supposed to budget money? The BHC must have had a budget....So why, when all this spending was done, did he or The Premier NOT ASK ANY QUESTIONS? I find it exceptionally unacceptable. I think we will find a lot more of these corruption issues, if we investigate. I am one who does not trust this Government with OUR MONEY, that's right, it is our money that they are overspending. You and me, Mr. Editor, that hard working, tax paying public. We should all be alarmed and disgusted over this issue. Where else has our hard-earned money gone?
This Government needs to be voted OUT... We all have a right to force them out, and next election, Bermudians, take to the polls and get rid of them. They will ruin our country if we do not. I can't wait until the next election. Can you imagine the opposition's plat form? All they have to do is remind the people of ALL the mistakes they've made with our money, and the opposition UBP will once again be at the helm.
I really thought the PLP were for the people. But, they're not. They are purely and simply for themselves. Vote them out Bermuda, we can do it.
M.D.
