Crown prosecutor Blackman returning to Barbados
Crown prosecutor Anthony Blackman has completed his final stint in Bermuda?s courtrooms and is flying back to his home Barbados after five years on the Island.
The popular legal professional took his final bow at the Magistrates? Court yesterday when he conducted the prosecution business for the day before Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner.
At the end of the morning session he informed the court it was his last appearance.
Mr. Blackman was thanked for his service in the court by Mr. Warner, who also wished him well on his future endeavours in Barbados.
Mr. Blackman became a practising lawyer in 1992 and joined Bermuda?s Department of Public Prosecutions in June 2001.
He said: ?It has been a worthwhile experience and I hope I was able to contribute to the criminal justice system here.?
On his future intentions Mr. Blackman said he would be returning to his native Barbados later this month to relax and consider a number of options before planning his next step.
