Top sailor charged with threatening neighbour
Olympic sailor Peter Bromby pleaded not guilty yesterday to charges of assaulting his Gilbert?s Bay neighbour, Henry Talbot, in May of last year.
Bromby, represented by lawyer Mark Pettingill, pleaded not guilty to both charges. He was released on bail and will stand trial on April 28. A warrant was issued for his brother John Bromby, who is alleged to have assaulted Mr. Talbot on May 16, 2004. John Bromby was off the Island yesterday and did not appear in court.
Yesterday Peter Bromby was charged with unlawfully assaulting Mr. Talbot on May 16, 2004 in Sandys. He was also charged with threatening Mr. Talbot, allegedly saying: ?If you don?t move those boulders I will kill you on the spot?.
Director of Public Prosecutions Vinette Graham-Allen said yesterday her office is still conferring with the Planning Department on allegations that Mr. Talbot had bulldozed parts of Gilbert?s Bay Beach. A stop work order has been issued.
