A hero chased down two thieves to retrieve a woman?s handbag, Police reported this weekend.

Police said that Saturday at 7.40 p.m. on Church Street, a 33-year-old Hamilton Parish woman left work and was walking to her cycle when two men snatched her purse and ran down Dundonald Street.

?A member of the public, who heard the victim?s screams, pursued the culprits and managed to recover the handbag which was dropped by the men,? Police said.

The victim was uninjured, however, was unable to describe the thieves.

Police searched the area but the thieves had escaped.
