Man from diverted flight dies at KEMH

An American who lost consciousness on a flight diverted to Bermuda on Monday night was pronounced dead on arrival at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

William Hess, 68, of Fenwick Island, Delaware, was onboard a Boeing 757 from San Juan, Puerto Rico heading to New York-JFK when it diverted to Bermuda and landed at 9.45 p.m.

He was rushed to hospital, accompanied by his wife Janet, but it is believed Mr. Hess, who had type two diabetes, died at the Airport.

The flight subsequently departed BDA for New York at 10.45 p.m.
