The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index gained 27.03 points or 1.11 percent yesterday to close at 2,457.24. A total of 8,555 shares worth $343,294.25 were traded.

The sole gainer for the day was the Bank of Bermuda which gained 95 cents or 2.1 percent to close at $45.95 after 7,162 shares were traded.

The Bank of Butterfield saw 286 shares traded but ended the day unchanged at $28.25.

The only other issue to be traded was 1,107 shares of BF&M Ltd. which ended the day unchanged at $8.25.
