BSX takes 70-point loss on the week

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange Index fell over 70 points or almost three percent last week, to close at 2,382.23. About 77,000 shares worth $2.5 million were traded.

The Bank of Bermuda dropped $2 or 4.4 percent to close at $43.50 with volume of 35,348, while the Bank of Butterfield gained 20 cents or 0.69 percent to close at $29 on volume of 17,904.

Bermuda Commercial Bank slid 75 cents or 4.92 percent to close at $6.25 after 1,000 shares traded hands.

Argus Insurance Co. Ltd. slid $1.50 or 6.52 percent to close at $21.50 on volume of 15,695 and BF&M Ltd slipped just five cents or 0.6 percent to close at $8.25 with volume of 3,100 shares.

Bermuda Aviation Services gained $1 or 26 percent to close at $7.25 on volume of 500.

Belco Holdings Ltd. fell $1 or 3.85 percent to close at $25 after 650 shares were traded and KeyTech Ltd. fell 25 cents or 0.6 percent to close at $41.75 on volume of 230.
