BSX Index slumps 90 points for week

The Royal Gazette/Bermuda Stock Exchange lost more than 90 points last week to close down 3.62 percent at 2,497.77.

A total of 63,390 shares worth just under $2 million were traded, with the banks being the most active.

Bank of Bermuda lost $1.50 or 3.23 percent for the week to close at $45 on volume of 26,330, while the Bank of Butterfield lost just 25 cents for the week or 0.78 percent to close at 31.75 on volume of 17,311.

Bermuda Commercial Bank remained unchanged at $8 despite 6,300 shares changing hands, and LOM (Holdings) Ltd. also remained unchanged at $43.90 despite 500 shares trading hands.

Bermuda Bakery Ltd. was the only issue to close up for the week after posting a $1.50 or 6.82 percent gain to close at $23.50 on volume of 1,900.

Argus insurance lost 95 cents or 3.8 percent to close at $24.05 on volume of 1,439 while BF&M Ltd. lost 25 cents or 2.94 percent to close at $8.25

Key Tech Ltd. lost 25 cents or 0.6 percent to close at $41.75 on volume of 200 shares.

BTC warrants gained 20 cents or .21 percent to close at $96.75 with 4,650 being traded.
