The price of a litre of gas rose 2.4 cents at local pumps yesterday with the Ministry of Finance announcing the maximum price for gasoline was just over $1.60 per litre or almost $6.08 a gallon. The increase follows on a decline of 5.7 cents per litre of gasoline in February.

According to AAA, the average price of premium gasoline in the US yesterday was $2.61 a gallon.

Kerosene prices also rose by 0.8 cents per litre yesterday to a maximum price of $1.16 per litre or $4.40 per gallon.

The price of a litre of diesel rose one cent just under $1.41 or $5.32 a gallon.
