Lawyer accused of stealing $125,000

A non-practising lawyer was yesterday charged with stealing $125,000 belonging to Dilton Robinson.

Magistrates’ Court heard that Gordon “Ricky” Woolridge, 60, of Hamilton Parish, was alleged to have stolen the funds from credit balances between July 8, 2010 and May 9, 2013.

Mr Woolridge, whose status as a lawyer is currently “inactive”, is to be tried on indictment in Supreme Court and was not required to enter a plea.

The case is to be mentioned in the September 1 arraignments.
