Tuff Dogs took a bite out of their Commercial Division rivals Valley FC, running away to a comprehensive victory in this FA Cup first round match at Wellington Oval yesterday.

Such was Tuff Dogs' superiority that keeper Danny Faria endured a long, uneventful afternoon as his colleagues kept the visiting Valley defence hard at work.

Tuff Dogs were never seriously threatened as they romped into 5-0 lead by half-time through goals from Jamall Lowell (2), Nathan Browne (2) and Robbie Almeida.

Kevin Mooney and substitute Nelson Almeida added to Valley's woes with two second half tallies, the latter with a thunderous right foot volley from eight yards out that screamed past hapless Craig Whitehead in the Valley goal.

Valley's Kevin Isaac and Tuff Dogs' Geoff Mooney both received yellow cards for unsportsmanlike conduct from referee George O'Brien.

St. George's All-Stars 0

Devonshire Cougars 9

As expected, Cougars encountered little difficulty in disposing of cup minnows St. George's All-Stars, handing their less fancied opposition a 9-0 drubbing in this one-sided affair at Wellington Oval yesterday.

Cougars' Renaldo Clacken served notice of what was to come when he fired his side into the lead as early as the fifth minute.

And from that point on it was all one-way traffic.

Cougars' young forward line kept home team goalkeeper Dwayne Trott busy all afternoon as they attacked almost at will.

Powerful forward Mark Smith stamped his authority on the proceedings, helping himself to a hat-trick with stalwart Shawn Smith also getting in on the act with a pair of goals.

Heys Wolfe, Jamal Salaam and substitute Mike Dill rounded out the scoring as the Premier Division side romped into the second round.

North Village 2

Cal (Patches) Dill scored twice in the first half as Village ran out comfortable winners at Bernard Park.

Missing a number of starters, including Kentoine and Kevin Jennings and Tafari Outerbridge, Village fielded several youngsters against their Commercial Division opponents whose chance were few and far between.

Dill broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when he scored directly from a free kick outside the box.

The midfielder added a second on the stroke of half-time when he netted a penalty after Dwight (Payback) Warren was upended inside the box.
