Bermuda private jet service offers more affordable options

A new business promises cheaper private jet travel options for its clients by filling empty seats.

The Private Jet Club, launched by David Ezekiel and Robert Mulderig, intends to offer discounted flights to members by utilising “empty leg” repositioning flights and connecting members with others travelling to the same locations to make flights more cost-effective.

A spokeswoman for PJC said: “The pandemic has meant that travellers have been utilising private travel more than ever, and we want to build a community of like-minded travellers right here in Bermuda.

“The private jet sector is dealing with its own ‘supply-chain’ issues and rising costs, with many providers not issuing new jet cards, and prices rising an average of 21 per cent over the last year.

“PJC is going to have to navigate through these issues but we are confident that we can build something special here in Bermuda with our unique community-based membership offering.

“Unlike our competitors, we will be specialising in flights to and from Bermuda, which will provide our members with unique advantages.”

Members of the public can obtain individual PJC membership for $2,500 a year — which extends to the member’s spouse and children — or corporate membership for $5,000 a year, which offers four named passengers the benefits of individual membership.

Those who become members will receive notification of empty leg flights, with seats available at “steep discounts”, the company said.

Members can also share any flight bookings they make with other members to share the cost of charter flights.

PJC also said that it would look to “plug gaps” in commercial flight schedules with charter flights for members to purchase by the seat, along with organised charter flights to international conferences or events.

The spokeswoman said: “Although Bermuda travel will be our specialty, we have access to hundreds of operators and thousands of aircraft, allowing us to provide an exclusive and bespoke service on bookings around the world.

“Our goal is to make private jet travel more accessible by leveraging the unique characteristics of Bermuda — small land space, just one airport and a community where everyone knows everyone.

“This positions us well to introduce our membership to shared flights, where members can share trips with others either as a booker or a joiner, resulting in considerable cost savings.”

The club also promises members an on-demand concierge service to help them to receive the best possible deals on their flights.

The PJC website states: “Once we receive your journey request we take over the searching and negotiating before presenting you with the best options.

“Once the chosen journey has been booked, we can make arrangements such as catering, ground transportation and celebration packages to make your journey seamless and special.

“All that’s left is for you to arrive 15 minutes prior to departure and get ready for take-off.”
