A man who suffered serious injuries in a bike crash on his birthday has died, police confirmed yesterday.

Leslie Center, who was 73, was the island’s seventh roads death of the year.

A police spokesman said Mr Center was involved in a crash on Watlington Road, Devonshire just before 6.30pm on December 12.

He added Mr Center’s bike hit the sidewalk and crashed.

He was rushed to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but died less than two weeks later. Police renewed their appeal for witnesses.
