Somerset Cricket Club have handed Willow Cuts bowler Kevon Fubler a lengthy ban from their ground after he allegedly called club secretary Molly Simons ‘a f***ing whore’ on his Facebook page.Fubler is said to have made the remarks after not being selected for the Somerset Cup Match side for last week’s Classic at Wellington Oval. News of the disparaging comments filtered back to the West End club, who held an emergency meeting and then slapped Fubler with the lengthy suspension.“We can’t comment publically because we have yet to meet with Mr Fubler,” said a Somerset spokeswoman. “Unofficially he has been banned but that’s the only detail I can give you. We’re hoping to meet with him this week.”The ban would end Fubler’s hopes of playing in Cup Match for the foreseeable future as he is unable to enter the club’s grounds. The bowler was missing from the Cuts team that lost to St David’s yesterday, and with Cuts using Somerset as their home venue Fubler’s involvement in the rest of their league season, which includes the final round of the Western Counties competition at Somerset next Saturday, is likely to be severely limited.Simmons meanwhile is understood to be contemplating legal action and said yesterday that she had instructed her lawyer to send Fubler a letter demanding a public apology.
