Alcohol abuse screening today
CADA will be offering alcohol abuse screening today as a part if the Argus Health Fair being held in Number One Shed.
CADA chairman Anthony Santucci said: "Have you shown up late for work, disappointed family members or discovered you couldn't remember what happened the night before because you had too much to drink? Are you concerned that you might have a problem with alcohol? You are not alone.
"Bermuda Alcohol Screening Day gives people the opportunity to look at their alcohol consumption and how it might be affecting their life in a variety of ways including work performance, relationships and health.
"Through education, awareness and understanding, people can make informed decisions about their drinking behaviours."
People will be able complete a brief, questionnaire assessing their alcohol use and talk privately with a health professional about their results and possible next steps. The screening is free and confidential.
CADA has partnered with the Department of National Drug Control and the Bermuda Assessment and Referral Centre to provide this free service.
Senior citizens can be screened from 10 to 11 a.m. today and the rest of the public can be screened from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information about Bermuda Alcohol Screening Day and other Alcohol Awareness Month activities contact CADA at 295 5982.
