BCB bounces back

Bermuda Commercial Bank Ltd. was the biggest climber on The Royal Gazette Bermuda Stock Exchange last week, as its share price rose 8.57 percent.

The BSX Index finished the week 26.13 points (0.51 percent) higher at 5,100.44. Turnover was $1,308,737 and volume was 44,138 shares.

BCB closed the short trading week on Thursday at $9.50, up 75 cents on the trading of 3,205 shares, though still well below its 52-week high of $12.50.

Bermuda Aviation Services saw plenty of trading activity, as 10,000 of its shares traded in the week it announced it had merged with the CCS Group. BAS closed up 20 cents (3.17 percent) at $6.50.

Butterfield Bank Ltd. was the biggest trader, as 16,873 shares changed hands, though the issue remained unchanged on $59, remaining just $1 below its 52-week high.

KeyTech Ltd. had a positive week after Cable & Wireless announced it had dropped it planned takeover of the BTC and Logic Communications owner. KeyTech ended Thursday up 55 cents (3.67 percent) at $15.55, as 3,000 shares sold.

Argus Group Holdings Ltd. saw 8,000 shares change hands, as it remained unchanged for the week on $15. Its fellow insurer enjoyed a rise of 50 cents (2.78 percent) after announcing plans to sell more of its products in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Devonshire Industries was the one share to decline, falling $1.50 (10.34 percent) to close the week at its 52-week low of $13.
