C Travel teams up with Zoom
C Travel and its sister company CMS have been appointed on-Island marketing and sales outlet for Zoom Airlines.
Customers can book low-cost direct flights between Bermuda and London, which will commence on June 8, through the two companies.
Zoom will go into direct competition with British Airways on the route. Between June 8 and 18 the flights will be on Mondays and Fridays before the flights switch to Saturdays and Tuesdays for Bermuda departures (the first on June 23), and Wednesdays and Sundays for the London Gatwick departures (starting June 24).
Zoom is looking to capture passengers who have previously travelled with British Airways by offering low-cost competition.
One-way tickets between the two destinations on Zoom start at $149, exclusive of taxes and services.
John Boyle, co-owner of Zoom Airlines, said: "These services will offer people a high quality but affordable way of travelling direct to London and from London. Competition is long overdue and Zoom's arrival will provide a welcome alternative for people who've had no choice but to pay BA's high fares to London and from London for the last 40 years."
Carl Paiva, chief executive officer of C Travel and CMS said: "Zoom Airlines has acknowledged the strength of C Travel and CMS in the Bermuda market. A win-win formula has been struck and we will dedicate ourselves to make this service highly popular and profitable. Consumers need to be recognised for their value."
