Butler: Lectures may be repeated

Social Rehabilitation Minister Dale Butler has paid tribute to people who took part in a series of community lectures.

The Know Thy Self lectures, at Bermuda College, aimed to give participants an understanding of their history and where they are heading towards.

Twelve men and women who took part in the sessions, which were led by Professor Melodye Micere Van Putten, the founder of Black History Workshops For Children, were presented with certificates by Mr. Butler at a reception at the college on Saturday.

The lectures were three-hour classes, designed to help people improve their awareness and forgiveness. People who took part were multi-ethnic, represented different religions and ranged in age from 20 to 60. Mr. Butler said it may be repeated depending on demand.
