Cargo ships make scheduled stops
The Somers Isles was carrying 195 containers when it arrived in Bermuda from Port Elizabeth, New Jersey, on Monday.
Cargo included 156 dry containers and 39 refrigerated containers. The vessel also had 5 flatbeds on board. It sailed from Bermuda at 7.05 a.m. on Tuesday.
The Bermuda Islander will arrive in Bermuda tomorrow, carrying 129 dry containers including 22 refrigerated, when it leaves from Salem, New Jersey. It will leave the Island on Friday morning.
The 32 foot Sailing Vessel Kairos arrived in Bermuda from Venezuela on April 5 with four people onboard, after encountering difficulties with its main mast on March 30.
RCC San Juan had sent a Merchant Vessel to supply enough fuel for the Kairos to continue under engine power to Bermuda. It arrived safely at St. George's Harbour.
