Police: serious midweek crash in Paget

A motorcycle rider required hospital treatment after an overtake of traffic on Wednesday morning ended with a “serious” collision with a car, according to police.
Shortly before 9am, officers attended the scene of a crash on South Road, Paget, near the junction with Southlyn Lane.
The rider was said to be travelling east and attempting to overtake a line of traffic when he struck a car exiting Southlyn Lane.
The rider was ejected from the bike and sustained abrasions about the body as well as injuries to the hip and face.
He was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The driver of the car was not reported to be hurt.
