Government survey on cost of living closes

A survey into the cost of living in Bermuda has closed after an “encouraging” response from the public.

The Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday thanked people who answered the recent Cost of Living Public Survey, which closed on April 30.

Alexa Lightbourne, the home affairs minister, said the public’s response reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to “people-first policymaking”.

“The insights provided will directly inform how we structure the upcoming Cost of Living Summit and shape the ministry’s long-term strategy,” she said.

“As we review the survey data alongside broader government findings, we remain resolute in our collaborative approach, grounded in action and guided by the needs of Bermudian families.

“This survey is just the beginning. We look forward to continued public engagement as we deliver practical, targeted solutions to tackle the high cost of living for all who call Bermuda home.”

A ministry spokeswoman said details about the summit will be unveiled soon.
