Cameras offer views of St George

The public can now view the heart of Bermuda’s Unesco World Heritage Site through two webcams for free.

A statement said the cameras, which went live on April 23, are placed the St George marina and superyacht dock to showcase King’s Square and St George Harbour.

Bermuda Heritage Tours partnered with Skyline Webcams and the marina for this initiative.

Bill Storie, operator of Bermuda Heritage Tours, explained: “By leveraging modern technology, we’re able to bring the beauty and history of the oldest continuously inhabited British settlement in the western hemisphere to a global audience.”

Barbara Bongarzone, commercial relations for Skyline, said: “The webcams provide a continuous high-definition stream capturing the vibrant atmosphere and historic architecture of St George Town Square and St George Harbour, and are a great addition to our extensive list of other Unesco World Heritage locations.”

Mark Soares, owner of the St George marina and superyacht dock, said: “This initiative not only highlights the beauty of our town but also supports our local businesses by attracting more visitors.”
