We are into the penultimate gameweek of the season and managers will be pulling out all the stops to win the RG Fantasy competition.

Big-ticket players such as Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak are ending the campaign in inconsistent form so Brentford’s Kevin Schade and West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen are solid lower-priced options to boost your points tally. Each have been involved in four goals in their last three games. Ahri Daniels and team “Ahri FC” has taken the overall lead with 2,497 points with two rounds remaining.

Friday

Aston Villa v Tottenham Hotspur(3.30pm)

Aston Villa have lost just one of their last 12 games to stay in the hunt for another Champions League appearance next season. Jacob Ramsey is suspended, while Youri Tielemans is doubtful to a muscle injury this match with Marcus Rashford still out injured.

Tottenham lost their 20th league match of the campaign at home to Crystal Palace last time out. Radu Dragusin, Lucas Bergvall, James Maddison and Dane Scarlett are out to differing injuries this weekend, while Dejan Kulusevski is set to miss the rest of the season.

Prediction: 0-2

Chelsea v Manchester United(4.15pm)

Chelsea suffered their first defeat in seven at Newcastle last weekend. Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk are suspended; Jadon Sancho cannot face his parent club; Wesley Fofana, Omari Kellyman and Aaron Anselmino are out to muscle and hamstring injuries, while Christopher Nkunku and Marc Guiu are doubtful.

Manchester United suffered their ninth home league defeat against West Ham on Sunday. Diogo Dalot, Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee are out to differing injuries while Matthijs De Ligt and Leny Yoro are doubtful.

Prediction: 2-1

Sunday

Everton v Southampton(8am)

Everton could tie the record for most draws in a 38-game Premier League season if they tie against Saints and Newcastle. James Tarkowski, Orel Mangala and Jesper Lindstrom remain out injured, while Jake O’Brien is doubtful.

Southampton ground out a goalless draw with Manchester City to avoid closing with the joint-worst league points tally. Kyle Walker-Peters is doubtful with an illness.

Prediction: 2-2

West Ham United v Nottingham Forest (10.15am)

West Ham have won both Premier League games against Manchester United for the first time since 2006/07 season after shutting out the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Sunday. Crysencio Summerville and Michail Antonio remain out.

Forest will finish with more than double their points from last campaign regardless of this result. Callum Hudson-Odoi and Murillo are doubtful with hamstring and muscle injuries respectively this weekend.

Prediction: 0-2

Brentford v Fulham (11am)

Brentford are unbeaten in six league games, winning their last four. Josh Dasilva, Vitaly Janelt and Fabio Carvalho will miss this match through injury, while Aaron Hickey and Kristoffer Ajer are doubtful.

Fulham haven’t won more than two matches in a row this campaign, losing four of their last five. Timothy Castagne, Reiss Nelson, Harrison Reed and Rodrigo Muniz are out injured this weekend, while Sasa Lukic is doubtful.

Prediction: 2-2

Leicester City v Ipswich Town (11am)

Leicester showed good character to grab a draw at Nottingham Forest last time out. Mads Hermansen, Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Stephy Mavididi and Abdul Fatawu are out injured while Ricardo Pereira is doubtful.

Ipswich lost to Brentford last weekend; only Southampton have fewer home points (six) and more defeats (14) than the Tractor Boys this campaign. Arijanet Muric, Conor Townsend, Nathan Broadhead, Wes Burns, Jaden Philogene and Chiedozie Ogbene are out injured, while Sammie Szmodics is doubtful to a minor ankle injury.

Prediction: 1-1

Arsenal v Newcastle United (12.30pm)

Arsenal came from two goals down to draw at champions Liverpool last weekend. Mikel Merino is suspended having been sent off at Anfield; Gabriel Magalhaes, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Gabriel Jesus are out to knee and hamstring injuries, while Kai Havertz, Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard are all doubts.

Newcastle took a giant step towards Champions League qualification with the clean sheet win over Chelsea. Lewis Hall is out with a foot injury, while Matt Targett, Kieran Trippier, Joe Willock, Joelinton and Sven Botman are doubtful.

Prediction: 2-1

Monday

Brighton & Hove Albion v Liverpool (4pm)

Brighton are on a strong run of just three losses in their last 12 league matches. Ferdi Kadioglu, Solly March, James Milner and Georginio Rutter are out injured this match.

Liverpool are winless in two games since clinching their 20th title against Tottenham, and gave up a two-goal lead to second-place Arsenal. Joe Gomez is out with a hamstring injury.

Prediction: 2-2

Tuesday

Crystal Palace v Wolverhampton Wanderers (4pm)

Crystal Palace dominated Tottenham last outing, and have the FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday before this rescheduled league game. Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure remain out with knee injuries, while Adam Wharton is doubtful this match.

Wolves have suffered consecutive losses after their six-match win streak. Sam Johnstone, Yerson Mosquera, Enso Gonzalez, Leon Chiwome and Sasa Kalajdzic are out to knee injuries, while Hwang Hee-Chan is doubtful.

Prediction: 1-1

Manchester City v Bournemouth (4pm)

Manchester City face Crystal Palace to clinch their eighth FA Cup crown. John Stones and Rodri are out to injury and lack of fitness, while Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb are doubtful.

Bournemouth suffered their seventh home loss of the campaign against Aston Villa last weekend. Ryan Christie, Dango Ouattara, Alex Scott, Luis Sinisterra and Enes Unal are all out.

Prediction: 2-0
