A St George’s man has been given a suspended prison sentence for assaulting a lawyer outside the Supreme Court in January last year.

Kyle Tannock-Williams, 43, admitted assaulting Sara Tucker during an earlier court appearance and was sentenced in Magistrates’ Court last week.

He committed the offence during a confrontation outside Sessions House on January 17 last year while Ms Tucker’s client, Raheem Wray, was on trial for the murder of the footballer Osagi Bascome.

Tannock-Williams was further charged last April with assaulting and threatening to kill Mr Wray — who was acquitted of the 2021 killing — as well as assaulting another woman, Ann-Marie Hewey, during the same incident, but those charges were dropped.

Prosecutors also dropped allegations that 37-year-old Oronde Bascome, from St George’s, also assaulted Ms Tucker and Mr Wray.

Magistrate Maria Sofianos sentenced Tannock-Williams to one month in prison for the offence, suspended for 12, and ordered him to complete one year of probation.
