Seniors won several gifts, including a free telephone and free phone service, during a seniors tea yesterday.

LiveNet, a Bermuda-owned telecommunications provider, partnered with Ageing and Disability Services to host the third annual event at the Willowbank Resort in Somerset.

The tea was hosted to acknowledge World Elder Abuse Day.

Attendees were treated to light refreshments and a presentation on the importance of estate planning by guest speaker Perry Trott.

Guests joined in a raffle that won them several prizes, including a free senior-friendly handset and a month of complimentary mobile phone service.

Troy Simons, the chief executive of LiveNet, said: “At LiveNet, we believe in the power of connection — and that includes supporting the people who helped build the very fabric of this community.

“LiveNet has long championed Bermuda’s seniors by offering reliable, discounted mobile plans tailored specifically to fit their needs.

“We’re proud to be a small part of this meaningful event and deeply grateful to Ageing and Disability Services for the care and commitment they show to Bermuda’s elders.”

A spokeswoman for LiveNet said: “Supporting seniors isn’t just the right thing to do — it’s part of LiveNet’s commitment to community, inclusion and accessible technology.

“As the island’s only locally owned telecom provider, LiveNet continues to champion initiatives that serve real people and real needs.”
