Tre Maxwell launches light show business
A Bermudian entrepreneur has launched Navigate, an entertainment company specialising in high-tech aerial displays using co-ordinated drones.
“Customisable for any occasion, Navigate offers a bold, modern alternative to traditional fireworks displays,” company chief executive officer Tre Maxwell said.
The goal is to enhance Bermuda’s tourism offerings and add a unique dimension to local events with memorable shows in the sky.
“We are bringing something totally new to Bermuda,” said Mr Maxwell, Navigate’s lead drone pilot.
“Our goal is to create unforgettable experiences that leave people in awe, while also offering a safer and more sustainable option for live events.”
With a fleet of more than 200 high-performance drones, each equipped with white light emitting diodes capable of displaying more than 16 million colour options, Mr Maxwell said Navigate could transform the night sky into a stage for light, animation and storytelling.
The drones, which are en route to the island, will be able to form custom messages, shapes, logos, and animations, all choreographed to music and viewable from more than four miles away.
Each show can run up to 15 minutes. With advanced technology, the drones can operate in wind speeds over 20 knots.
“We handle everything,” Mr Maxwell said. “From concept design, permitting, logistics and post-event support – leaving our clients to sit back and enjoy the true magic of these shows.
Together, the team is driven by a shared mission: to push the boundaries of entertainment in Bermuda through innovative, professional and memorable experiences.
“Drone light shows are growing in popularity around the world as a modern and eco-conscious form of entertainment,” Mr Maxwell said.
“Navigate is the first and only company bringing this trend home to Bermuda and the team believes that the island provides the perfect setting for these spectacular shows to flourish.”
Navigate expects its drone shows to begin in mid-July.
Future plans include growing the drone fleet to support even larger shows, building local training programmes in drone technology and live event production, and establishing Bermuda as a regional hub for drone-based entertainment.
“We see this as not just a business but a platform for opportunity,” Mr Maxwell said. “We want to inspire creativity, create new jobs and bring a little more wonder to the island.”
