The RG/BSX Index finished up 83.95 points (2.96 per cent) to close at 2,922.62 on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
Only Butterfield Bank saw activity, with 6,116 shares changing hands to end the day at $44, up $1.50 (3.5 per cent).
Total turnover for the day was $269,104.
On the New York Stock Exchange, Butterfield was down 32 cents (0.72 per cent) to $44.28 at the close.
The volume was 154,228.
