Challenge is on for 12 fundraising contestants

Local celebrities and community members will be faced with gruelling challenges as part of a fundraiser for a mentoring charity.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda will be hosting its sixth annual How Much Would You Pay to See Me …? event at Victoria Park on Sunday.

From hilarious stunts to stomach-churning challenges, each participant has committed to completing their dare with the goal of raising $1,500 for the charity.

In previous years, a member of Parliament kissed a pig from Wadson’s Farm, a school principal got into a boxing match with the Belco Bird and a star runner ate a live “organic” cockroach.

The presidents of Somerset and St George's cricket clubs even swapped team colours.

Patrina O’Connor-Paynter, the managing director of Big Brothers Big Sisters, said: “This year the sky is the limit.

“This is not just an event, it’s a chance to see the community come together for an unforgettable experience while helping to create brighter futures for Bermuda’s youth.

“We encourage everyone to make a donation towards a dare. Our contestants are amazing and we are looking forward to a great show.

“We would like to thank the City of Hamilton for their support of this event. Don’t miss out on the laughs, thrills and the opportunity to make a real difference.”
