Paradise Mobile offers free hurricane service for 30 days

With two hurricanes nearing Bermuda, Paradise Mobile is reprising last year’s hurricane offer of free mobile phone service to those needing communication.

The no-strings-attached offer allows 30-day free unlimited local data and calling.

The promotional material said: “In times of uncertainty, staying connected shouldn't be a luxury. If your existing service is interrupted or you want peace of mind, we’ve got your back.”

A company spokesman said: “Ahead of the anticipated impacts of Humberto and Imelda on the island, Paradise Mobile is pleased to offer islanders free 5G mobile service for 30 days.

“This offer comes with no strings attached and is Paradise’s way of giving back to its island home during these storms, when it’s vital that residents have a way of communicating with one another and — perhaps no less importantly — entertaining themselves!”

Only months after beginning service last year, and after Hurricane Ernesto, Paradise Mobile began offering free service with unlimited data for seven days.

By offering free unlimited data for a week, the new company said at the time that it aimed to help the community stay in touch with loved ones and access important information.

Paradise Mobile launched in December 2023, disrupting the local telecommunications industry, offering data more than twice as fast as competitors and plans with unlimited data at much lower price points, the company said at the time.

Fast forward to this year and the company is going further by offering 30 days of free unlimited local data and calling, which it said was available instantly via eSIM.

There are no credit card charges, unless the user chooses to convert to Paradise, and there is no commitment, it said. Set-up takes minutes either online or by phone and it works on most modern iPhones and Androids.

The company said: “We’ll check your ID and payment information for account security, but we promise never to charge you without your consent.

“When the island begins to recover, we’ll reach out — and you can choose to either keep the service or cancel with a tap.”
