Next month’s Global Entrepreneurship Week will include a food-tasting and culinary showcase featuring American celebrity chef Pinky Cole, founder of restaurant chain Slutty Vegan.

Ms Cole is known for her vegan junk food and other fun non-meat options.

During the event organised by the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation, five local chefs will present their vegan creations to Ms Cole and a panel of judges for a chance to win top honours, with attendees sampling dishes and voting for the People’s Choice Award.

Ms Cole will also give a seminar, sharing the story of her success — from mistakes and pivots to the principles that built her business empire — in a session designed to help Bermudian entrepreneurs create lasting impact.

Another highlight of the week will be the third annual Wave of Opportunity Pitch Competition, where entrepreneurs pitch their business ideas for a chance to win one of five prizes of up to $25,000 in grants and support.

The signature offering during the week will be Together We Build: Experiential Full Day Conference, bringing together entrepreneurs, innovators and partners for a full day of learning, collaboration and inspiration through keynotes, breakout sessions and a live pitch competition.

GEW kicks off on November 21.
