KFC has raised more than $4,500 for a children’s learning charity through its October voucher programme.

The business invited customers to purchase booklets of vouchers instead of traditional Hallowe’en candy throughout the month, to raise funds for The Reading Clinic.

Customers bought five-packs of vouchers for $2 each, which could be used to purchase up to $12.25 worth of food.

The statement said the vouchers, which are valid until January 31, 2026, “allows a child aged 12 and under to redeem it and receive either an apple turnover, one order of French fries or a chocolate chip cookie”.

It added: “The initiative not only provided a fun and festive alternative for local families but also helped channel meaningful funds into educational support for children across the island.”

Tina Harris, the executive director of The Reading Clinic, said the $4,534 raised “helps us provide research-based, individualised reading and maths intervention to children who learn differently due to a diagnosis of dyslexia or maths-based learning differences”.

Ginene Haslam, the KFC general manager, thanked customers for their generosity.

She said: “The Reading Clinic provides essential services to children who need specialised learning support and community partnerships like this help ensure they continue making a positive, lasting impact.”

Ms Haslam added: “We know how challenging fundraising can be for local charities, so being able to help their local programmes and initiatives with this contribution is rewarding.”
