CPA to host week promoting pathways to designations
CPA Bermuda will host a series of information sessions, networking events and advising clinics next week as it welcomes representatives from the CPA Atlantic School of Business to the island.
The visit, which runs from November 24 to 26, is part of an effort to raise awareness about the CPA Canada and Bermuda accounting designation and to help more students and professionals understand the available pathways.
The programme begins tomorrow, with a virtual Networking 101 webinar offering tips for building professional connections ahead of the in-person events.
Throughout the week, CPA ASB advisers will hold individual CPA Coffee and Chat sessions at Devil’s Isle Coffee on Burnaby Street for Preparatory Courses and Professional Education Programme students seeking guidance on their CPA journey.
CPA Information Session (Monday, November 24, from 6pm to 7pm at the CPA Bermuda office on Parliament Street. Attendees will learn about the Canadian CPA programme, the benefits of the designation and the different pathways available)
Student Speed Networking (Tuesday, November 25, from 3pm to 5pm at the CPA Bermuda office. The session offers aspiring CPAs a chance to connect with peers, ask questions and meet CPA ASB representatives)
CPA Student Luncheon (Wednesday, November 26, from 11:30am to 1:30pm at Huckleberry Brasserie at the Rosedon Hotel)
Jozelle Opoku, chief executive and president of CPA Bermuda, said the partnership with the CPA ASB “reinforces CPA Bermuda’s commitment to developing highly skilled accounting professionals who can thrive in a global marketplace”. She added that by supporting students and employers along the certification route, “we are helping to build a strong, sustainable pipeline of CPA talent that will continue to drive Bermuda’s financial and business sectors forward.”
Heather Brewer, director of marketing and recruitment for CPA ASB, said the team is “looking forward to our time in Bermuda” and will use the visit to highlight “the value of a Canadian and Bermudian CPA designation, and how you can complete it all on-island”.
Spaces are limited, and organisers encourage early registration.
