Haile Eve scored twice for PHC in their emphatic Premier Division triumph over Young Men’s Social Club at PHC Field last night.

Eve, who also struck the woodwork twice, scored in the 41st and 83rd minutes.

Jaylon Bather opened the scoring in the seventeenth minute, Jayden Ebbin added the second in the 32nd minute, Aaron Nelson notched his first PHC goal in the 61st minute and substitute Jenico Sealey got in on the scoring in the 79th minute.

It was the second win of the season for the Zebras, which lifted them to nine points. Social Club endured their second defeat and are still yet to taste victory from six matches.

Bather gave the home team the lead when he rifled from close range after a sweeping move. The overlapping defender exchanged passes with Ebbin, passed the ball to Kadeem Abraham, who pulled it back for Bather to hit the roof of the net.

In the 25th minute, Social Club keeper Reid Trott used his feet to keep out Abraham’s effort. In the process, Trott picked up an injury and was replaced by Quinn Simmons.

The substitute goalkeeper came off his line to deny Ebbin using his feet, but that allowed Eve to get his first of the match.

Ebbin scored the third for PHC from a corner, with Bather laying the ball nicely to him.

Nelson pounced on a rebound to record his maiden goal in PHC colours just after the hour mark.

Eve rattled the crossbar twice before Sealey had his shot at goal blocked.

It was not long before Sealey was rewarded for a brilliant run on the left as he tucked the ball beyond the keeper’s reach.

Eve completed his brace with seven minutes to go to complete a resounding victory.

Meanwhile, in an earlier First Division match at the same venue, Robin Hood defeated Southampton Rangers 2-1.

Hood's goals came from Keishen Bean and an own goal by Michael Ray. Jahnai Bean was the scorer for Rangers.
