Bermuda under-17 women’s squad announced
Bermuda’s squad for the final round of the Concacaf Women’s Under-17 World Cup Qualifiers in Costa Rica has been announced.
The 21-member team are preparing for three tough encounters over a six-day period. On March 17, they face the United States (2.30pm Bermuda time) before 48 hours later taking on Puerto Rico (5pm Bermuda time) and then finishing things off on March 22 against Haiti (noon Bermuda time).
After the draw and seeing the confirmed match schedule, coach Gary Adams spoke of how determined the players, who enjoyed home support during the initial phase of qualification, were to display their talent abroad.
“Our girls have made it to the final round for the second year and are excited to share the field with the top teams in our region,” Adams said.
“Playing at home was fantastic, but now we must perform on the road in Costa Rica. Our preparation has gone well and the girls are determined to make Bermuda proud.”
The squad is heading out to Costa Rica on Tuesday, which will give the players ample time to get accustomed to the conditions in the Central American country before taking to the field in their quest to qualify for the World Cup.
