Man denies bringing machete into sports club and wounding a person
A man has denied bringing a machete into a sports club and wounding a person.
Tahj Robinson, 32, pleaded not guilty to having the weapon in an increased penalty zone, namely Southampton Rangers Sports Club, when he appeared in in Magistrates’ Court.
He also pleaded not guilty to wounding Innaig Castro. The incident was alleged to have happened on February 13.
When given the option to be tried in Magistrates’ Court or the Supreme Court, Mr Robinson, from Smith’s, chose the lesser court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case until May 11 and released Mr Robinson on $7,000 bail.
She ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim, to stay away from Southampton Rangers Club, to adhere to a curfew between 9pm and 6am and to visit Hamilton Police Station every Saturday.
