Kids’ Hour programme continues with focus on shells

The Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute’s Kids’ Hour programme will turn its eye to shells and hermit crabs this weekend with family friendly fun and games.

The next edition of the programme, to take place at 11am and 2pm on Sunday, will feature the screening of a short film about hermit crabs swapping shells.

That will be followed a reading of Share a Shell by Julia Donaldson about a grumpy crab who doesn’t want to share his new shell until he discovers that friends make life in his rock pool much better.

Admission for Kids’ Hour is free for BUEI members, and costs $5 per child for non members, with adults accompanying participating children able to attend for free.

The event will also include BUEI’s I Spy Challenge and free access to the BUEI’s Ocean Discovery Centre.

Kid’s Hour, sponsored by Allshores, is scheduled to continue until September with a different marine theme selected for each session.

Anyone who is interested was urged to register in advance at BUEI.org/kidshour/.
