Canadian accused of smuggling more than $1m of cannabis

A Canadian man has been accused of importing more than $1 million worth of cannabis and cannabis resin into Bermuda.

Adam Lym, 49, was also charged with having the drugs in St George’s with intent to supply when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Mr Lym, who lives in Toronto, was not required to plea to the offences, which he allegedly committed on May 24, as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.

Prosecutor Carrington Mahoney told the court that the alleged drugs have a street value of more than $1.3 million.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson sent the case to the July 6 arraignments and remanded Mr Lym in custody until that time.
