Take a step back in time for International Archives Day
Bermuda’s storehouse of historical treasures is to highlight its work next week with a “dynamic day of culture, history and community engagement” on Tuesday.
International Archives Day, marked this year under the theme “For the Culture”, comes with an open house at the Bermuda Archives from 9am to 4.30pm, welcoming visitors to view displays, presentations and collections featuring the island’s cultural heritage.
US historian and author Linford D. Fisher will deliver a talk on his newest book, Stealing America: The Hidden Story of Indigenous Slavery in US History, at the Bermuda National Library from 6pm to 8.30pm. It will also touch on Bermuda’s role in the history of indigenous Americans.
The event comes with music provided by Pink Sand Band.
Members of the public, researchers, students and history enthusiasts are invited to attend the free events and experience first-hand the work being done for the island’s culture.
