Concert to celebrate decades of Disney magic
Members of the public can hear music spanning more than eight decades during a concert on Sunday.
The Bermuda Philharmonic Society will perform pieces from Fantasia, Aladdin, Frozen and several other Disney films during the organisation’s annual summer pops concert, Disney: Then & Now.
A statement said: “Whether audience members grew up with Mary Poppins, sang along with Ariel and Simba or can recite every line from Encanto, this family-friendly programme celebrates the music that has become the soundtrack to childhoods around the world.”
Kate Kayaian, a conductor and musical director for the show, said: “This concert is about more than Disney, it’s about great storytelling and great music.
“Many of these films introduced generations of children to orchestral music, and we're excited to bring those beloved scores to life right here in Bermuda.”
Members of the Royal Bermuda Regiment junior band will also perform during the concert, which will take place at the Victualling Yard in Dockyard from 5pm to 7pm.
Big tent tickets are $70 general admission and $40 for seniors and students. Tickets to see the concert on the lawn are $30.
All tickets are available via bermudaphilharmonic.org.
