Bermuda to field 78 athletes in 15 sports at CAC Games
Nearly 80 athletes across 15 sports will represent Bermuda at the upcoming Central American and Caribbean Games.
Team Bermuda will send 78 athletes and a team of coaches, officials, and support staff with 104 delegation members. The contingent is the largest team Bermuda has ever sent to a multi-sporting Games, which will take place in Dominican Republic from July 24 to August 8.
Peter Dunne, president of Bermuda Olympic Association, is delighted that the island will be represented by such a huge number of athletes.
“We are incredibly proud of the athletes who have earned their place on Team Bermuda,” Dunne said.
“This is one of our largest and most well-rounded teams in recent memory, with a diverse selection of sports. We wish every athlete the very best as they prepare to represent Bermuda on the regional stage."
Team Bermuda's delegation to the Dominican Republic will be led by Chef de Mission Jon Beard, who will oversee the team throughout the Games, working alongside games management and medical staff to support athletes across all 17 sports.
“It’s a privilege to lead Team Bermuda into Santo Domingo for what promises to be a truly special edition of the CAC Games,” Beard said.
“Our athletes have worked incredibly hard to earn their place on this team and our job now is to make sure they have everything they need to compete at their best. I know all of Bermuda will be behind them as they take on the region's top talent over these two weeks.”
