Community dares to raise funds in Victoria park
Members of the community will get covered in toilet paper, dance with children and do other unusual things during a fundraiser in Victoria Park on Sunday.
A statement from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda said 11 contestants are taking part in the seventh “How much would you pay to see me ...?” event.
Participants, who include radio personality Nikita Robinson, BermudAir pilot Tariq Lynch-Wade and members of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, each hope to raise $1,500 for the organisation’s mentoring programme.
Patrina O’Connor-Paynter, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Bermuda managing director, said: “Every year, our contestants show up ready to laugh at themselves, entertain the crowd and support a cause that truly matters.
“This fundraiser brings the community together in such a fun and memorable way, while helping us continue to provide mentoring programmes for Bermuda’s young people.
“We are so grateful to everyone who has agreed to take on a dare this year, and we encourage the public to donate, cheer them on and come out to enjoy the show.”
