PwC hosts annual insurance event

PwC Bermuda expects their annual insurance summit in November will draw more than 400 attendees from more than 175 organisations.

The firm said there will be an exceptional line-up of global industry leaders for its 19th annual Insurance Summit, bringing together some of the sector's most influential decision-makers to discuss the risks, opportunities and strategic choices shaping the future of re/insurance.

Registration has already opened for the summit, scheduled for November 10 at the Hamilton Princess Hotel & Beach Club.

PwC said: “As the insurance industry confronts a rapidly evolving risk landscape, three of the sector's most respected leaders will take the stage to examine what lies ahead.

“Stephen Catlin, founder and life president of Convex Group Limited; Dan Glaser, operating partner at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and former CEO of Marsh & McLennan; and Fiona Luck, deputy chair and senior independent director for the Council of Lloyd’s of London, will draw on decades of experience to discuss the strategic decisions that will define the next era of re/insurance, from capital allocation and market transformation to talent, technology and the changing nature of risk itself.”

AI’s impact on underwriting, risk selection, and client engagement will be a prominent theme, with remarks by Oliver Wing, chief scientific and product officer at Fathom, a Swiss Re-owned company. Dr Wing will explore how AI is reshaping disaster modelling, particularly flood risk.

Alok Aggarwal, the founder, CEO and chief data scientist of Scry AI, is also presenting. Described as an artificial intelligence visionary, Dr Aggarwal, a board member of Portage AI, will share insights into AI’s evolving role in insurance — including the advancement of document intelligence for financial services.
