No licence leads to roads ban for teenager
A teenager has been banned from the roads for seven months and fined $2,050 after admitting three traffic offences.
Zion Trott pleaded guilty to driving without a licence, using an unlicensed motorcycle and having no third-party insurance on North Shore Road, Pembroke, on June 15.
The 19-year-old received seven demerit points for not having a valid driver’s licence. This addition raised his total to 14, resulting in a seven-month disqualification.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos said: “Sir, you are disqualified from today from all vehicles for seven months.
“If you are caught driving while disqualified, it could invite a prison sentence so I urge you not to get behind the wheel of any vehicle.”
