Aspida Re has appointed Brian Lewis as chief financial officer of its Bermuda-based reinsurance platform.

Mr Lewis, who will be based in Hamilton, has more than 13 years of experience across reinsurance finance, capital management and regulatory reporting.

He joins Aspida Re from Fortitude Re, where he most recently served as finance chief of staff, working on finance transformation initiatives and strategic projects across finance, actuarial and technology.

David Florian, chief executive officer of Aspida Re, said: “Brian brings an exceptional combination of technical expertise, strategic perspective, and deep knowledge of the Bermuda reinsurance market.

“His experience leading finance organisations through growth and transformation makes him an outstanding addition to our leadership team as we continue expanding our global platform.”

In his new role, Mr Lewis will oversee financial reporting, planning and analysis, capital management, regulatory reporting and strategic financial initiatives for Aspida Re.

Earlier in his career, he worked for PwC, serving insurance, reinsurance and investment clients in Bermuda and the United States.

Mr Lewis is a certified public accountant and holds the Associate in Reinsurance designation. He earned an MBA and a bachelor of business administration in financial accounting from Western Connecticut State University.
