Members of the public can learn more about diabetes during a free virtual workshop organised by the Bermuda branch of a sorority.

The workshop on Monday, “Know your numbers, protect your future”, is being organised by the Sigma Xi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated and will feature Andrew Dhanoo, a biology lecturer at the Bermuda College and Bermuda Diabetes Association board member, as the featured speaker.

The event will take place via Zoom and explore type 1 and type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, when to get screened and seek care for the conditions, prevention and management strategies and tips for healthy meals and everyday activities.

The workshop, held in recognition of Diabetes Awareness Month, is to run from 7pm to 8.15pm. Anyone interested in attending can register via a Zoom link.
