Toys for Tots campaign returns for holiday season
Butterfield Bank is once again partnering with the Coalition for the Protection of Children to launch its annual giving drive, inviting the community to come together and help make the holiday season brighter for children and families in need.
A longstanding tradition, Toys for Tots brings together individuals, families and businesses to provide gifts and essential support to those facing financial hardship during the festive season.
From now until December 7, members of the public have been encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys for children aged 12 and under, gift cards for teenagers and vouchers to help parents with everyday essentials, including groceries, clothing and utilities.
Gift cards can be bought at Annex Toys at Phoenix, People’s Pharmacy, Impressions Artistry, Luxury Cuts and Mystique’s.
Kelly Hunt, the executive director of the CPC, said: “The holiday season can be especially difficult for families struggling to make ends meet.
“Through Toys for Tots, we can bring a little extra joy and festive cheer to those who need it most.”
The goal is to collect 2,500 donated items and the public were urged to give generously once again so that no child goes without.
Jody Feldman, Butterfield’s managing director in Bermuda, added: “Toys for Tots is a meaningful tradition that brings people together through generosity and kindness.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with the Coalition for the Protection of Children and encourage everyone who can to contribute and help make a difference this holiday season.”
Donations can be dropped off at participating locations across the island, including Butterfield banking centres, PriceRite shops, Annex Toys, Arnold’s Discount Warehouse, Gorham’s and People’s Pharmacy.
