The Fidelis Partnership has appointed Rebecca Matts as head of corporate affairs in a newly created role as the specialty managing general agent keeps expanding globally.

Ms Matts will join the executive committee and report to Conor O’Riordan, group chief financial officer.

She will oversee the group’s corporate affairs agenda, including its external profile, internal culture and communications strategy. The role will involve work with executive leadership, investor relations, corporate finance, legal, talent, sustainability and marketing teams.

Mr O’Riordan said that as the business scaled and developed into a more global operation, it was increasingly important to communicate its story consistently to colleagues and outside stakeholders.

He added: “Rebecca brings significant experience advising and supporting businesses through periods of growth and milestone moments and will strengthen our capabilities across corporate affairs, investor relations and corporate finance.”

Ms Matts has more than 20 years of corporate affairs and communications experience in financial services. Her previous roles include senior communications positions at Hines, Nomura and BlackRock, as well as SThree, UBS and HSBC.

She said: “TFP is an impressive business at an exciting stage in its evolution. I look forward to working with colleagues across the organisation to build on its already strong reputation and help shape their story and how the business communicates as it continues to execute its ambitious strategy.”
