Six Bermudian university students have started the annual ten-week Chubb Select internship.

The dedicated insurance internship aimed at Bermudian university students who are considering a career in Bermuda’s international insurance industry. The programme provides interns with a well-rounded knowledge of the insurance industry in a practical environment.

The six students selected for the 2017 Chubb Select internship are:

• Karen Bennett, University of Toronto (Robert Clements Scholar 2016)

• Reem Bushara, McGill University

• J. Riley Correia, University of British Columbia (Robert Clements Scholar 2015)

• Anna Harrington, University of Western Ontario

• Cole Hill, Oakwood University

• Georgia Morrison, Bentley University

“We are always excited with the prospect of developing young talent and look forward to working with this year’s interns — two of which are Robert Clements Scholars,” Lisa Harvey Simmons, Chubb’s director of human resources.

“Developing young talent aligns with our goal of providing a continuum of opportunities for Bermudian students — from scholarship, to internship, to on-the-job training.”

The Chubb Select interns will rotate through four business units and participate in professional development workshops designed to enhance their business and leadership skills. They will complete their learning experience with a presentation to Chubb leaders to showcase their knowledge of Bermuda’s insurance industry.
