Shooting timeline
Dekimo Martin is the fifth person to be shot dead this year.
Mr. Martin, 24, was killed in Peacock Crescent, Sandys, at 1.07 a.m. yesterday.
His death is the ninth gun-related murder since May 2009.
Those killed include:
Kenwandee 'Wheels' Robinson, 27, who was murdered in St. Monica's Road, Pembroke on May 22, 2009;
Kumi Harford, 30, who was murdered in St. Monica's Road on December 5, 2009;
Gary 'Fingaz' Cann, 22, who was murdered in Sound View Road, Sandys, on December 15, 2009;
Shane Minors, 27, who was murdered in Friswells Hill, Pembroke, on December 17, 2009;
Perry Puckerin, 32, who was murdered at the Hamilton Workmen's Club, Hamilton Parish, on January 3, 2010;
James Lawes, 26, was murdered in Dundonald Street, Pembroke, on March 19, 2010;
Kimwandae Walker, 35, who was murdered at the Victor Scott School playing field on April 2 (Good Friday), 2010;
George Lynch, 40, who was murdered in Midland Heights Crescent, Hamilton Parish, on May 5, 2010.
Police have arrested and charged a number of persons for firearms offences.
They include the shooting resulting in injury of Shaki Minors and Renee Kuchler outside the Southside Cinema, St. David's, on November 13, the attempted murder of Nathan Darrell, 23, in Kitchener Close, Sandys, on February 13, and the shooting of Sean Williams, 18, at the RAA Club in St. George's on April 4.
On Wednesday Cervio Cox, 26, of Smith's, was found guilty of being an accomplice to a triple shooting in Court Street on May 23, 2009.
Cox was sentenced to seven years' imprisonment after being found guilty of three counts of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
Detectives are working on compiling files for a number of other firearms offences including murder. Five firearms have also been recovered.
